Yeah...cause I have a feeling our #1 is going to be pretty close to the front next year.

Just found that interesting. SI had Brown rated the 2nd highest DE in the draft just a hair below Orakpo and ahead of the other 3 DE that went in the first round.

I liked how aggressive we've become in the draft the last two years. If we had the guy graded a mid to low 1st then we got pretty good value. It all depends on what next years pick turns out to be but I like the confidence that it won't be a high pick.

Just didn't sound good at the time. The more I read the more I like it. I thought his height and weight maybe undersized, but if you're going for speed on the outside, then he's just 12 lbs. lighter than Freeney.

    Brown quote from Gantt:

"They told me they want me to put my hand in the dirt and rush the passer."

Think anyone will forward that quote to Peppers?

Similar, but not as good. Johnson looks a little more up and down, and has more desire issues than we want to deal with.

and Brown will fit better in Cowher's system next year [/thelt]

Yeah, Freeney II was the first thing that popped into my mind. I even read that Brown has a mean spin move.

I watched his highlights. He definitely likes the spin move. Seems to enjoy trying to anticipate the snap count too.

Sounds like a good player to add but I hate giving up a first rounder to get him.

Honest to God, this is what I'm hoping. It's my only hope, as a matter of fact. My gut is screaming this guy will be a huge bust, and I'm wringing my hands hoping someone on this board can convince me otherwise. He seems to me like a horrible fit for our scheme (unless we start transitioning to the 3-4, which seems like a very bad idea), and there were much better fits on the board.

Seriously, guys, we could have Fili Moala and Jarron Gilbert right now. :banghead:
