Here's the thing, and I am not a lawyer, but it is still Statutory Rape under Florida law and based on the law I posted, her consent is not a defense. Is the state willing to drop it given the law? Now, debating the law itself is another matter

Hard to say...Each state has different laws but my guess since dealing with this stuff, that if she drops the charges then its a done deal. The State of Florida could possibly come back and file charges but if the girls parents refuse to press charges, then I don't think this will ever get taken to court.

Could compare it to a Domestic Violence...Doesn't matter if the guy hit his wife, if she is not willing to press charges then there is nothing you can do about until she press charges and testifies against him.


The thing that shocks me more than anything that he was raw dogging it, figured neither of them would want a kid, especially her at the age of 14 or 15 years old.

Well originally it said they snuck out. I wonder if she got caught sneaking out and when her mom found out what happened she flipped. It would be hard to prove that they had sex unless somebody witnessed it who was willing to testify. I've also heard of a few cases where the underage girl claimed that she forced the guy to have sex and the charges got dropped after that.

All of those sarcastic too? You can try to mask it out, but the fact is you jizzed your pants when you found out a UNC player was getting in trouble. Then you proved that by claiming that Butch Davis only recruits thugs as evidenced by Hadley getting in trouble for the first time in his life. I'm still waiting to see the part where you rip the 30 other college football coaches that offered him a scholarship.

If you can't tell that is said sarcastically, you are seriously dense. Holy cow this shouldn't be that difficult and I think most can tell it was said sarcastically especially given he doesn't have a HS dropout in this class.

lclefty, how does this compare to a rape case? Will they not continue to investigate a rape even if the woman refuses to press charges? You would know more about the law than most of us so I wondered what they would compare this too.
