I still think the UF team is the best team of the decade. Sure, Noah was overrated, but Al Horford, Brewer and Green were nasty. Humphry was one of the best sharpshooters in NCAA tournament history.

I think one three of the starting five are still in the NBA, but they were still a wicked squad that could score from any position on the floor.

Duke had them in 04. If Shav had been able to give Duke 5 minutes they could have closed them out. If memory serves he didn't even last 2 before he fouled out. Very disappointing loss, Okafor ate Sheldon Williams alive in the second half.

I think the way UNC shit the bed last year disqualifies them from being named Program of the Decade, just as Uconn losing to Geo. Mason when they were prohibitive favorites disqualifies the Huskies. Both teams choked. Florida it is.

A single team? I don't think any team this decade would hang with '04 UConn.

If anything this topic proves that UODE never even brings a fact, he just likes talking about his opinions as fact and repeating that ad nauseum.

But they lost and it has absolutely no bearing on the fact that that team was better than this year's Tarheels. Now go away and don't come back.

I agree that UConn 04 would wipe the court with the Tarheels, 05 or 09 version.

Did you see Stan Olson rate Hansbrough as the best UNC Post Player of all time?

now see? you're getting tripped up by semantics. Fla. is the program of the decade. Uconn '04 was the top team.

Stan Olsen? Bah. Lou Stenson ranks him number 11. I'll take Lou's word over some no-name like Stan Olsen any day of the week.

Florida's had too many NIT appearances to be the program of the decade. It's UNC. Don't forget they had a surprise Final Four in 2000 as an 8 seed. Of course Florida ran them off the court in the Final Four. May be closer than I initially thought but I'd still give the edge to UNC. Even with an 8-20.
