    Gut went to the Final Four and Doh recruited a national championship team. I'd say they did pretty well, again, because of Dean Smith. Chapel Hill recruits itself, because of what Dean Smith did. Roy is benefiting from that. Yes, he's still a good coach, but without Dean I don't think he would be half the coach he is today.

    Don't get me wrong, I think Dean is the better coach and he built the program at UNC. With that said, not just any coach could have stepped in and won a national title, which was the point. I also think that if Doh had stayed he would not have won that national title that Roy did. Those group of players hated him and nothing would have been done the same during the course of that year.

    He was pretty good at Kansas without Dean.

    It's true. Why don't you tell me what he innovated and explain why he had to luck into the only 2 championships he won in 36 years waist deep in talent.
