Anybody else going to watch the McDonald's All-American game?
This will be my first time seeing some of the ACC recruits.

After looking at the box score, out of the UNC/dook guys, I think only Henson played well. He will be an immediate contributor. Was most looking forward to seeing Strickland, and although he didn't shoot well at all, his rebounding is promising for a guard. Didn't look at the other ACC guys yet - will do that tomorrow.

So are those guys legit McDs All Americans or just McDs All Americans because they signed with those schools? More specifically, the Duke guys.

Henson is a beanpole right now. athletic, long and lean.

    Stricks shot looked terrible.

The Wear bros look like the they will be able to contributue some minutes.

Plumlee looks like the real deal for Duke. A lot more athletic than I imagined. Quick, active, and has some hops

Dook's 2 guys shot a combined 6/14 from the field and 0/3 from 3-point land. They had 6 rebounds between the two of them and played 13 (Kelly) and 18 (Plumlee) minutes. Plumlee did have 2 blocks and and 2 assists, while Kelly had neither. From what I saw of the game (which was very minimal) there was almost no defense being played at all. It seemed to be an up and down game. I recorded it, so I'll watch the rest tonight while I'm packing.

Here's the full box score: http://www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com/boys_final.pdf

Because of the nature of this game, big guys generally have a tough time. Although I do remember Kevin Garnett and coudn't believe how far above his talent was from the rest.

John Henson was very productive. 7/10 FG's with 3 rebounds, an assist and 2 blocked shots. He might be skinny, but that's not a bad stat line for only playing 16 minutes.
