There is a strong chance he could have, but no way to know that as an absolute. Nothing would have been done the same throughout the season as we are talking about two different coaches.

Yeah I guess it depends on what the 'group' is defined as being.

Faces of College Basketball? Definitely Pitino is in that group.

I was merely arguing their accomplishments in the college game, and I didn't mean to downplay any of Pitino's. I merely made a statement that he was low man in that group (surprisingly I added.) That speaks of the accomplishments of the other men in the commercial, it wasn't meant to deride any of Pitino's accomplishments.

As for who else would be in the top four most accomplished college basketball coaches, you have to look at Calhoun and Izzo. Izzo has 5 Final Fours and a NC, all with way less talent than Pitino and at a school with very little basketball history compared to Kentucky or Louisville. Calhoun has 3 Final Fours (less than I thought actually) and 2 NCs at a program he built himself.

I'd still put Pitino above Calhoun and Izzo for the commercial, and I'd put Pitino as a better coach than Roy Williams. But I'd argue if UNC wins this year that he's less accomplished in the college game.

John Wooden is still alive, he should have been in the commercial. Let Pitino and Williams slap fight to see which one loses their spot.

Oh, that makes sense. He's a scriptworm, explains his void of personality hidden behind a cantankerous exterior. Poor guy must be lonely, and hungry.
