That makes sense. I think the misconception on Scheyer and Singler being called 'shooters' is just that they rarely drive to the basket. Singler scores more on the inside than Scheyer, but Henderson is usually the one with the ball during late shot clock situations.

Just curious - if you don't call Scheyer and Singler shooters, though, then what exactly was their offense this year?

Duke's offense was pathetic this year. They had a few decent games, their defense and surprising rebounding helped keep them in games, and fundamentally they were solid as usual. But their offense this year (and last) is among the worst offenses I've seen at Duke. Even in the horrible 95 year they had Cherokee Parks getting 17 ppg inside and Chris Collins from the outside.

Scheyer drives a little, but most of his scoring comes in bunches (he's hot) or from the FT line.

K nailed it at the end of the Villanova presser, they need a true point. They got the #1 PG in the nation four years ago and he turned out to be a dud, so who knows. For the record Paulus was our best shooter last year. I guess Scheyer was this year but he disappeared for nearly half the year.

 

I think it's a good pickup for Duke, he should certainly be a better option than what they currently have. If they could get a somewhat decent big man, they would be set.
