seth curry transferring to duke

Stephen was what 5'11 his senior year and grew 4 inches over the summer?....As good a shooter/scorer that he has become at 5'11 he probably was just not on the radar of any power conference.....he landed in a good system that allowed him to shine...and last year was a great run for them...but it was obvious that he was easily game planned against this year.

 

All well and good - but Greenberg SAID he screwed up. Check out his blogs.

This was more about 'loyalty' to an alumnus (one that had a pretty good NBA career as well). If you're gonna offer the kid a scholarship - why a half? Like that other half is really going to help you land another kid that's better. Greenberg messed up. And I don't think Seth will be as good as his brother (and neither will be as good as Dell), but looking at what might have been - a Stephen Curry/A. D. Vassallo team would have been pretty good, imo.

 

Easily game planned? The guy led the nation in scoring. Whatever game plans they had failed.

Sure, Davidson didn't win as many 'big' games this year, but they didn't win that many last year either until their tourney run. Steph kept them competitive against Duke and a lot of other teams, but they didn't have a ton of upsets until the tourney.

Davidson's problem this year wasn't teams 'gameplanning' against Curry, it was Curry having to handle the PG roles as well as the leading scorer role. Losing Richards forced too much on Curry's plate. As good as Pistol Pete was, he still never won an NCAA tournament (or NBA championship, as he retired the year before the Celts won one.) It's too hard for one guard to completely carry a team by creating shots for others and himself at the same time.

 

True about the PPG but those came at a price, and you are right he was option 1 2 and 3 for scoring and option 1 and 2 for assists.

 

but he said that after the fact...not before....if he goes to Davidson and doesnt do shit, what does it matter?

 

He offered the kid a HALF scholarship. That in and of itself was a slap in the face. He's not saying he screwed up because the kid became good - he's saying he screwed up because he made a bad decision on his offer.

Do you really need everything pointed out to you like this or do you actually understand some things? (Maybe something about tractors?)
