    Interesting story (probably only to me) about Malik Rose. I listened to Gerry V a lot and he kept talking about Malik Rose in college and what a great rebounder he was, how he led the nation his senior year etc. The next year, I was listening to WBT and their sports show had tickets to the Pepsi Tournament of Champions, the trivia question was asking who lead the NCAA in rebounds the previous year.

    The first caller guessed Shaquille O'Neal. Second caller guessed Christian Laettner. I was the third caller. When they asked how I knew that, I knew they wouldn't want me to plug a rival radio station, so I said 'I'm just a big Drexel fan' lol


    I went to that tournament to watch UNC beat some team's ass (it wasn't one of the years where USC gave them a game unfortunately.) Being 17 and cocky I wore a Duke shirt even though they weren't playing in the tournament, and laughed as grown men heckled me at the Coliseum.


    Needless to say I was a big Malik Rose fan when we drafted him.
