From what I hear the Patriots are more concerned with getting a deal worked out with Vince Wilfork. Apparently it has been in the works forever. Bringing in Peppers now and signing him to a big contract would not go over well with Wilfork and his agent.

Peppers and Delhomme for Brady. Straight up. (Plus Brady's new "wife")

pep and his agent have vastly overestimated his worth-He wont get elite 34 OLB money, maybe some kind of incentive laden deal-the reality is the good 34 teams like Pitt and NE draft and develop guys and tend to let guys that age or want too much money go-His best money would be at 43 DE, problem is, he and his agent look like morons now, not alot of play from the talking heads-07 doesnt help etiher, if i was a GM id be looking at it like there was a good possiblilty he tanked it, maybe he didnt but it looks bad. Theyll eventually have to lower his expectations if he really wants out..he will never see anything close to his frachise number

You would probably have a better chance if you dropped Dehomme out of that deal.

Makes sense. Wilfork will be expensive, and worth every penny of it. They need him a damn sight more than they need Peppers.

If the Skins had not signed Haynesworth I bet they would be in the mix on this.

If we get a number one pick plus for Peppers I think we come out on the winning end of all this. Whoever has Peppers next year may have a highly paid non factor for over half the games.

Great, so Peppers is shooting himself in the foot by not signing the franchise tender and not probably realizing it. If the Pats, or any other team say it's bad business to do a agent brokered deal instead of a team brokered deal, then the Panthers are stuck and so is Peppers.

He needs to sign the freaking tender already and maybe something can get done for both parties sake!

Or he realizes that signing the tender could get him sent to a really shitty team of the panthers choosing instead of his own.

Even if he does sign the tender no one is gonna give much for him unless they can sign him long term, which would seem to offer him protection.
