KC broke his leg his Senior year. Purnell went to see him in the hospital and extended a scholarship offer. He told KC even if he was never able to play again, he'd honor the scholarship. As for staying, I know he and his wife really like the area. They have a great home on the lake. He is in talks with the athletic department. I don't think he'll leave unless a school like Alabama throws too much money at him for him to say no to it. Maryland concerns me more than Bama though, because of his history there.

Coaches want the players to stay 4 years. They don't care if they actually graduate.

I disagree. The good ones care. It's about more than 'keeping their job'. Maybe some of the posters on here are unable to get decent jobs, so they'd sell their soul to keep one they do have, but most of these coaches will get other coaching jobs.

I actually just looked at the years (classes) they looked at. Purnell didn't come to Clemson until 2003. Several people transferred or were taken off the team which affect the percentages. Purnell was at Dayton before Clemson, and it has been pointed out by OOS in another thread that Dayton has an excellent graduation rate.
