I hope there's more in it for us than just a second. I would rather nix all offers and play Peppers this year at 17 million, in spite of getting nothing for him next year.

He screws himself for the future if he coasts this year, and I think he is professional enough to give the Panthers a good year if he stays.

With that said....we're in the driver's seat with Peppers. Make the Patriots give us a lot more than a second, since they want him so badly. And if they do, it's time to stretch them a little bit. Let's see if Hurney has the balls to win this celebrity poker match.

Taking a second for Peppers and nothing else is as dumb as what we did to acquire Sean Gilbert.

i think we should have worked a cassel for pep but since not i think it is crazy as rape if we dont get AT LEAST 2 2nd rounders... 1 first rounder is ... ok... 2 2nd rounders is ok... but we SHOULD be getting 3 2nd rounders which to me would be best case... but at the same time i understand gettin something is better than nutting but he is argubly the best DE in the league and switching to OLB will just make him that much better... the only way i will be happy with trading peppers is 1. we get josh freeman. 2. we change our defense to a 3-4 where we would be NASTY and 3. we get 2 2nd rounders or more!

    1. OH He's big and mobile with a strong arm!!! 2. We don't have the personnel this has been discussed several times before. 3. We'll take what we can get.

    Yeah I'd take a second.

Think about it - #34 pick and $17 million to add players who want to be here.....

We'd suddenly have nearly $20 million under the cap and #34.

Of course, we'll probably use that money to extend Delhomme and draft a longsnapper.

...and the Panthers get out of $17m to a guy who doesn't want to be here.

With Carolina winning the division this year, their schedule next year will be tough.

I'd throw some $ at a QB fast.

Dude, you're such a mark. In all the years, I have never met a bigger homer in my life. It doesn't matter WHAT we do, you'll put a cherry on top of it, and say it was the right thing.

We're not LUCKY to get anything out of it, dumbass, we FRANCHISED him.

Josh Freeman isn't Pat White, I'll give him that, but maybe this isn't about a quarterback.

Extending Delhomme would save, not cost. But it'd cost in future years.

#34 is a valuable pick. It's nowhere near as valuable as Peppers.

Thats key, and as much as I am ready to see him go since he doesn't want to be here, you just have to get more than a 34th pick imo.
