we'll have money. We just don't have it now. Which, the three reasons we're waiting on it are prudent.

Have we mentioned that Kyle is from Arizona and owns a restaurant out there?

Remember a few years ago when we lost so many LBs they threw him in on defense? That was funny.

Am I right in thinking that Peppers is basically holding this franchise in limbo because of his not signing his franchise tag?

no, they have to keep the cap room open whether he signs it or not.

That's kind of my point. If he signs it, then we can trade him. But we have to keep the cap room open for as long as it's out there waiting for him to sign. April will be here before we know it.

He has to find a team willing to trade for him first, I don't blame him for not signing it so we can send him to Detroit or Oakland or whoever just to help the cap.

yeah, but Lucas showed how easy it is to squash a trade in this circumstance. No one's going to trade for him just to have him for one year.

That's why this "holding hostage" thing was so weird. Julius Peppers holds literally all the cards except he can't just walk. He's the one who can negotiate with whoever, he can organize a trade, he can sign the tender, he can do a number of things and the team's only able to sit around and say they want him back.

Two things happened yesterday: Zona signed Mike Leach to LS, and we made some cap space. Sounds to me like Kyle will stick with the Panthers.
