    Ok here is my issue.

I can connect to the internet on my Wii (Wireless using Linksys WRT54X2 router)

I am able to play in regional races with no real issues (the occasional dropped connection but not major)

I CANNOT however create a private room and have my friends join me to race, nor can i enter a private room that any of them have created.

I have DSL 3.0 internet (AT&T) which should be plenty of speed.

    thoughts/prayers/suggestions?

    TIA.

It is a different system but I had connection issues on my 360 for awhile. I password protected my router so nobody else could pick it up through wireless and I haven't had an issue since then. Hope it helps.

what type of surface does your mouse pad have? If it's cloth, it can pick up static electricity, which can fuck with your router. it's a safety precaution that was built into the Wii systems to keep people with static-attracting cloth mouse pads from screwing up other people in the room who've had the common sense to use mouse pads made from synthetic materials, like plastic or vinyl. I'd suggest getting a new mouse pad or switching to an optical mouse that doesn't need a pad, but rather functions quite well on a flat, smooth surface. The other possibility is pet dander. If you have a dog and/or cat, be sure to keep them well groomed. Dander has been known to change the polarity of Wii's trademark Megatrapsis IV signal, which allows you to freely enter rooms to play your silly little fucking video games.

I filed a ticket with Will support and they have since called....they told me the last thing to try and if that did not work it was probably a router issue and I need to purchase a new one.....

    Grid, STFU k and thx.

Except for the guy that had no clue and just tried to say you needed a new router.

what he told me to try worked. Thus no need for a new router....my other problem with the router was i could not get a firmware upgrade for it.
