The Lord of the Rings

I got bored this weekend and decided to just put in the 1st movie. With a kid in the house, you'll pretty much try to get them to watch anything and leave you alone for 5 mins. Well, it didn't work. However, something else astounded me. I look over and caught someone watching it with feverish intent. It was amazing how this person ignored everything around her and concentrated on every little scene, her eyes wide with anticipation for the next little visual and storyline goodie. So, after that I decided to throw in the next two movies to see if she would catch on again. Like Pavlov dogs, it worked. She was hooked. She was in her own little zone. Now mind you, this wasn't the theatrical releases, it was the 2 disk special editions ones. They are like 4 hours long each. At the end of each disk, her mouth looking more and more like she put an alka seltzer in it, she would look at me and scream, "Is that it?!?" At the end of the Return of the King, she was pissed off because it lasted so long, however she was smiling and acted all giddy when the hobbits went home...
