Pay off the debt with the highest interest rate first and then work your way to the next highest rate and so on until you have it all paid off.

Looks like the answer is, pay to get my car fixed. The check transmission message come up on my dash...... Every time I get some extra money it seems like something comes up.

Gotta pay off credit cards at that interest rate...
Paying off the car frees up some monthly payment to more rapidly pay down the credit cards, and let's you drop collision, but so what...big interest rates top everything else.

Check transmission is no biggie, don't freak out, just pay the CC as soon as possible, and if you have to put something on it again in an emergency, so be it, just do that as LITTLE as possible and keep paying it down with every spare cent, consolidate cards if you get one paid off and get offers for low interest balance transfers, etc.

I put $1,000 on one of my credit cards. I am holding $2k until I find out what is wrong with my car. I am dropping it off at the shop tomorrow.

Get a couple of estimates. Find out what's wrong and then call around to a couple other shops to see what it would cost to have it fixed. It's a good way to keep them honest, well at least a little honest, as it is a car shop you are talking about.

Smart, I'd of paid the CC first too.

[Sell the kids, pay for transmission, use two grand on two hookers-three-way.]
