    If Holt really wants to play here on the cheap then I'd take him in a heartbeat. I think he's played both flanker and split end (usually split end), so rather than thinking about him replacing Muhammad I believe he would function best by spelling at both positions as well as playing out of the slot. That said, I really doubt that he'll pass on the money.

    I can see people saying we have greater needs, and by all means for once we do but I'd have to at least talk to him.

    Holt is a good player and if he was cheap he would be a good addition. That said, we have a lot more problems on the plate than a 3rd WR (Jarrett: Did you hear that?).

    That would be the big downside. Jarrett will justifiably want to start seeing regular playing time if we expect him to stick around beyond his rookie contract.

    I'm starting to think that Lewis isn't going to be a Panther in 09.

    Based on what? Don't we need him due to lack of depth? I assume he must have a pretty high cap number for you to say that.

    $2.5 million roster bonus, $3 million salary, and unless I'm calculating this wrong, his signing bonus proration would only accelerate $1.15 million, saving us upward of $4 million.
