Hank Aaron has more career Hits, Extra Base Hits, Home runs, and RBI than Ruth. I said that the Babe could easily be #1 as well. Ignoring the fact that Aaron was extremely comparable to the babe is dumb on your part statistical genius. The Ron Santo comment is slanted because I am a Cubs fan, but saying that Satchel Paige isn't deserving of the #2 pitcher of all time is ludacris. The guy had over 300 career shutouts.

This is what I mean. You don't even know enough to be embarrassed about saying something that stupid. No one with significant knowledge of baseball history would say that "Aaron was extremely comparable to" Babe Ruth because that's idiotic. Aaron was a fantastic player and certainly ranks in the top 25 of all-time, but he's not even close to Ruth. Aaron ended up with larger totals because he had 12,364 career at-bats compared with Ruth's 8398. That's nearly 50% more at-bats, and yet he just barely made it past Ruth's career totals. Spare yourself any further humiliation and just stop saying anything about any subject in public.

Even fellow Cubs fans would think you're an idiot for saying that Ron Santo "deserves a mention" in a discussion about the best 3rd baseman of all-time.

Did you learn to read by watching rap videos on MTV? Good lord. And Paige did not have 300 shutouts. That's what he claimed he had (along with 2,600 games pitched and 55 no-hitters), but he was full of shit. Paige definitely was dominant in the Negro leagues, but even you shouldn't be dumb enough to hear 300 shutouts and believe it.

None at all, except slugging percentage, at .690. Either Gehrig or Ted Williams are in second place in the .630s, and less than 8 are over .600 for their career.

Babe Ruth played 22 seasons, the first 6 of which he was one of the most dominant pitchers of his era, the last 16 the most dominant hitter. He was a power hitter in the dead ball era.

Here are some career ranks for Ruth. Keep in mind he held pretty much every offensive record when he retired.

    Batting Avg.- .342 10th
    On Base %- .474 2nd
    Slugging %- .690 1st
    OPS - 1.164 1st
    Runs - 2174 4th
    Total Bases- 5793 6th
    Home Runs- *714 3rd(Really 2nd)
    Walks- 2062 3rd

    Pitching

    ERA - 2.28 14th
    Winning % - .671 11th

When I say Babe Ruth is the greatest player of all time, I'm looking at the numbers.

I stand corrected. But I still think that Hank Aaron is comparable.
