As much as I hate to admit it, you're right. Bonds, even pre-steroid was a great player. He is as good or better than anyone that I have seen. Mays is in the mix, Mantle as far as skills is among the greatest. As a kid I watched Clemente, and to me he was everything a ballplayer should be. He could do it all. Great speed, great bat, unreal arm, and he played the game like it was easy for him which I guess it was. Nobody mentions Aaron but he should be in the discussion as should Ted Williams. If I had to name one, heaven help me....it's Bonds.

Barry Bonds was a top 25 all-time player before steroids, but I disagree about top 5.

that is quite possibly the worst list ever.

C: Johnny Bench (Yogi Berra close #2)
    1B: Lou Gehrig, by far
2B: Joe Morgan (Eddie Collins close #2)
3B: George Brett (Ron Santo deserves a mention here)
SS: Honus Wagner (ARod could easily be #1 as well)
LF: I have to have 3 here. Ted Williams, Joe Jackson, and Yas
CF: Willie Mays, could make an argument for Griffey Jr. or Ty Cobb
RF: Hank Aaron (Babe Ruth close #2)

SP: I'll have 5 man rotation here....
    1. Lefty Grove
    2. Satchel Paige
    3. Greg Maddux
    4. Sandy Koufax
    5. Bob Gibson
RP: Mariano Rivera or Hoyt Wilhelm

DH: Frank Thomas, or David Ortiz
