Aint cleaning the way it should, per the nurse in my doctors office. Every 6 months I get a blood workup for cholesterol meds. My liver number, whatever it is isn't in the right range. 2 weeks without any beer or tylenol then recheck. Funny thing is I haven't had any beer in 3 weeks (diet) and take Tylenol maybe a couple times a week. I think the test is fucked up. We'll see.

    Christ you're a mess Paul.

And why cut out the beer. Just stop eating so much and exercise a little. Life is too short to cut out beer.

Doctor told me to cut out beer and I've dropped 22 lbs since Thanksgiving by walking 2-4 miles a day. My left knee is fuckrd up from playing football so running isn't an option.

Liver function enzymes are extremely touchy. They can increase or decrease significantly in short periods of time. If you have been without beer or any alcohol or a while your liver enzymes will decrease, but just a day or 2 or 3 will not make much of a difference and may actually be higher if you have just stopped drinking as it works to remove any remaining toxins.

Also, exercise will increase your liver enzymes due to the break down of fat and your liver trying to work and remove the excess waste.

Unless they continue to run high or you start having pain or swelling in the area, I would not worry too much about it.

I can't run anymore either. You should go to the gym and use the elliptical, ride a stationary bike or swim. You will get a lot more out of it than walking. Doing an actual cadio workout will allow you to drink beer.

You don't retain most of the calories from beer because you piss it out so fast. Beer guts come from the lifestyle most beer drinkers live...like eating wings when you drink, the late night drunken pizza or just being lazy. You can lose weight and keep the beer. Liquor will pack it on you though.

Good idea. I guess the doctor just wanted to rule out anything that could effect it initially. I have numerous stairs throughout where I work and have been using them as well, damn near running up them at lunch in addition to the 2 miles I walk there (fast paced getting pulse to 2 x normal) twice a day

I had hepatitis a few times in my younger days. The doctor said if I lay off fatty foods it would give the liver time to rejuvenate itself. I guess he was right. I'm still here.
