    In clear passing situations why not go with a 3-4 line up with Lewis, Brayton and Johnson on the DL with Peppers, Diggs, Beason, Davis at linebacker. We could blitz Peppers or let him play coverage. Either way he gets in space and can make plays. A dominant NT that can hold the point of attack is not needed in passing situations that is more for defending the run.

    Getting the other team to run a draw in a clear passing situation, ie third and long, is a victory for the defense. An 8 yard rush on third and ten still gets you off the field.

    You might be overlooking something. In a 3rd and long, we probably would be IN OUR GOD DAMN NICKLE DEFENSE, instead of a defense with 4 linebackers.
