Kind of like when Moose left and we didn't need him anymore.

it's pretty tough for me to come up with that many pieces that fit. I think we have enough talent at LB to put together the four including Peppers, but Beason, Davis fit better in the 4-3.

Sure, putting Jenkins in as one of the three spots on the line makes it easier. I'd have him at end, not NT, and go find a NT. You could go get Paul Spicer, an end with plenty of size, to be a starter, or you could spend on the Cowboys' Chris Canty, who fits well. There's Ronald Fields, who has experience in the 3-4 at nose, but hasn't really started.

    There are some options.

Why not Jenkins at NT considering he played it well this season?

just my preference. He's a good passrusher so I feel like it'd give him more ability to make things happen as opposed to getting caught in the wash.

In theory it would keep him from freelancing as much and jumping the ball, but it seemed like he ended up jumping more from the shade spot here than he did playing the 3 technique.

I wouldn't mind Trogo moving on, but it's hard to blame him when the HC is a defensive guy.

As far as Lewis, the damn secondary was running around in confusion all year, I don't see that as putting him in line for a promotion.

At this point, even if they were gonna fire someone anyway, it might look like it was done to appease Peppers. That ain't good either.

Let's start out with the fact that you have repeatedly turned out to be wrong when talking about this team's defense while I have been consistently correct, so we're not just doing to wait to see if you're wrong again. Because of your history, it's reasonable to assume that you're wrong again, although we can obviously revisit that if you turn out to be correct. As for rankings, points are more important than yards, and Carolina's defense finished 12th in points despite facing a brutal schedule of offenses. It is very, very unlikely that we finish that well in points allowed next season without Peppers.

The Steelers and Eagles were 2nd & 3rd respectively in sacks this season, while the Ravens and Cardinals were 11th and 14th. We finished 9th on the back of Peppers' 14.5, which was almost 40% of our team total. No other player had more than 6.

Yes, you and Sorenson are both morons. Everyone here already knew that and had made comments to that effect.

Yeah, those rumors make no sense, which is one of the main reasons why I don't read that site. Unfortunately you just can't make wholesale changes for the sake of one player or you undermine the entire team, and even if they were willing to do that, Fox is a 4-3 guy. That's just a non-starter.
