I find it amusing that this all stems from discussion of a play that happened only in erpi's imagination.

In various arguments I've had with people over the years, I've posted screenshots and video to provide examples of what I was talking about. I had those because I actually archive Panthers games (in addition to many other games). Meanwhile you only come into the football forum when you're trolling.

That play actually happened. I suppose you want video evidence of that also, right?

    I don't have to.

I'm right, you're wrong and you know it. Deal with it.

The comeback is the same as a hook. We called it a "1" in high school to fit with our playcalling and it looked like a slant or "7" until you break it off. The WR is supposed to turn and slowly work his way back to the line to keep separation from the CB. Ideally, the QB should have thrown it about the same time as the break so that it is in the air already when the WR gets his hands up.

    49erpi is right.

I know I'm right and he knows it too.

It differs from the hook because in the hook the reciever will typically recieve the ball coming out of his break and is mostly run in press coverage.

The comeback is thrown as the reciever breaks and starts working back to the line and is typically thrown in a cover3 or soft corner. The comeback keeps the separation and give the reciever opportunity to run after the catch.

The comeback is typically a deeper route, also.

Ah ok. I guess we didn't run that one then. The hook we ran broke off at about 12 yards and we meant to catch at about the 10 yard mark.

Piss on you for quoting tharan, as he's on my ignore list, but in this case I guess it's worth it since he's so laughably wrong. I like how you accept his support even though he's so clueless that he says a comeback route is run off a slant. Tharan, you bubble-brained moron, a comeback route is not run off of a slant, but rather a go or streak route.

the problem with you is that you ALWAYS have to make it personal. Not all of us claim great football knowledge. It only makes you look like a prissy insecure little bitch.

You could have corrected me, and all the others who make errors, by simply stating it, rather than the attack. Why do you think all of us go after you?

collin will probably still be on this board wasting countless hours and amounts of energy arguing the same useless shite ad nauseam with magnus (and whoever) when he is in his eighties.
