Peppers demanding to play in a 3-4 also limits the number of teams who would be interested. Despite his obvious talent, I'm not sure we get a first round pick for him, especially with teams knowing that we won't want to pay him $17 million for 2009. Something like a second rounder and Elvis Dumervil from the Broncos might be the best we can do.

Brentson Buckner has been saying all season on WFNZ that Pep may want to go somewhere else because he is sick of ther whole NC hometown guy thing..funny those guys break every play down after a game to see how many sacks, hurries, double teams ,sneezes ,farts etc Pep has. they have said he looks like he playing not to get hurt(contract) at times. body language suggests he doesnt go 100% on plays.

    this still sucks ass.

Cleveland would be a team. San Francisco, maybe. I wonder if Peppers being available will actually entice certain teams to completely change their scheme.

Also, we've complained about how Peppers is being misused, but I don't remember any big arguments about how he should be a 34 linebacker. I think this has more to do with Peppers wanting new scenery and a huge contract than him wanting to be used differently.

Lots of people have argued that he would be best as a 3-4 OLB, but they always missed the point that the rest of our defense isn't capable of making that switch.

So if Tenn. doesn't get Haynesworth signed, do we go after him? He will cost less than Pepper's would have and we could possibly get draft picks in return for his Pepper's departure.

If we chose not to sign Peppers or Gross then I guess we could take a run at Haynesworth, but I suspect that we'll just use the money on Gross.

He has said it's not about money, he wants to win the Super Bowl. What does NE have that we could use? Heh.

Couldn't we afford both of them?
