    I agree with his assessment that he has not reached his potential. He has been good but not as good as he could be. I am not sure I agree with it being because of the scheme we use.

    Tag him and work out a trade. Make it so that the team gets something decent for him and move on....

    No sure what it matters if it gets nasty. It happens every year, it's business, I'm sure Peppers and his agent expect the tag and have for quite some time. Unless they are morons, it won't be a surpise dirty move or anything.

    I agree it does not really matter if Peppers or his agent like the tag, we should tag him. I am sure some team will give us something decent for him. I would expect at least a first round pick for him. Foregoing that just to keep a player who wants to leave anyway happy is not intelligent.

    Fox's tenure has been defined by Peppers, Delhomme, and Smitty.

    Peppers is gone, Delhomme's ju-ju wore off. Good thing he still has Smitty.

    We seem to like trading with the Jets. Maybe we could ship Peppers up there for their first round pick and a player. What ever happened to Gholston? He was supposed to be the next great pass rusher coming out of college.

    Not sure if Peppers would want to rejoin Jenkins.

    so now do we tag Peppers and let Gross walk? Kinda gives Gross the upper hand-he could end up the winner in all this: if we want him then he either gets paid or hopes we tag Peppers and someone else pays him

    I would let Gross walk regardless of Peppers. He is a solid player but not really better than Wharton was at LT. If Gross walks slide Wharton back out to LT and then we are looking for a guard, which is not that hard. With Vincent back we could fill LG with Bridges or Hangartner or sign a guy.

    Maybe the Rams would bite on Peppers. They have a very high pick and might throw in Bulger too.
