I hate to piss on the Jake parade, but your coaching staff lost that game hands down. Not using one of the best running games in the NFL and not double teaming Fitzgerald, that's what lost the game. You ran the ball 15 times. That's pathetic.

Yep I'm sure. The false start on King happened in the third quarter and was on what would have been a running play.

Facts? You mean like the fact that the Panthers ran the ball three times in their last 13 plays of the first half? You mean like the fact that the false start you talked about happened on what would have been a pass play, not a run? Are those the facts you're talking about?

After we got behind, we ran the ball 25% of the time until the game was out of hand. Normally we run the ball over 50% of the time. "We're a team that likes to run the ball and play defense to win the game." is more or less the team motto. Call it whatever makes you feel like you don't have to admit that you're wrong, but we got off the gameplan as soon as we went down.

Three times...we ran the ball a total of three times in the first half after we went down 14-7. Nine passes in that span.

During the time in question we ran six first down plays. Two of those were runs, four of those were pass plays. During the same time period we ran four second down plays. One run and three passes. The one run came after an incomplete pass on a 1st and 5.

Is that some sort of inner monolouge thing that you didn't mean to type?

I didn't bother saving the game, so I'll take your word on that and say that I got confused. That said, isn't it curious that we would be running the ball in the third quarter given that you keep insisting that we "abandoned the running game"?

Do you notice how no one is supporting you? Do you notice how no one but the posters widely considered the biggest morons on the board (Thelt, etc) agree with you? You said something dumb (as usual), I called you on it (as usual), and now because you're embarrassed you're trying to make excuses for your idiocy instead of just acknowledging that you fucked up (as usual).

Again, aside from the two turnovers on the very first play, there was only ONE possession where we did not attempt a run until late in the third quarter when we were down 30-7 and couldn't waste any more time. And as I have explained repeatedly to your dumb ass, no one is going to run on third & long when they're losing.

    Second Drive (7-7):
    Three runs.

    Third Drive (7-7):
    Turnover on the first play.

    Fourth Drive (14-7):
Two Stewart runs, two passes, and the first red zone interception.

    Fifth Drive (17-7):
Play action pass on first down, followed by run on second down. The run resulted in a two yard loss, meaning 3rd & 7, which obviously required a pass. Not running on 3rd & 7 doesn't mean you've "abandoned the running game" you fucking retard.

    Sixth Drive (20-7):
    Interception on the first play.

    Seventh Drive (27-7):
This was the only drive without a pass until late in the third quarter. That said, running three straight passing plays and punting is something that has happened to us in every game this season. It does not mean you have "abandoned the running game," especially since the third down play needed 12 yards for a first down, once again ruling out a run.

    Eighth Drive (27-7):
Two runs and two passes. Clearly we had not "abandoned the running game."

    Ninth Drive (27-7):
Run on first down, false start, then an interception.

Look, if you want to humiliate yourself and remind people just how fucking clueless you are, I obviously can't stop you. The many, many times you've ranted on, embarrassingly oblivious to just how blindingly wrong you are, illustrates that this is nothing new for you. You're thought of as a stupid person (albeit nowhere near Thelt's level) because you say a lot of stupid things. Yet despite that lack of intelligence and the indiginity of being corrected numerous times, you are still a belligerent asshole anytime someone points out the fact that, yes, you are a moron.

It's just flat out, unquestionably, 100% wrong to say that the Panthers "abandoned the running game." Before I might have said that it was just your usual stupidity, but now that I've shown you the facts and you're still babbling, it's crossed the line into dishonesty. "Abandoning the running game" means to stop running the ball, and as I keep pointing out, between the time when we lost the lead and the time when we were down 30-7, there was only one drive of more than one play where we did not run the ball. Everyone has seen me be critical of Davidson before, but this time I'm coming to his defense because you're a fucking moron and you're clearly wrong. In fact, Davidson continued to call running plays long after most OCs would have stopped. Would we have run more if we hadn't been down by double-digits? Sure, but the Carolina Panthers absolutely did not by any stretch of the imagination "abandon the running game." You're wrong, and you know that you're wrong.

I'm sorry, I must be missing it. Can you point out to me where anyone else is saying we didn't abandon the run? Cause you seem pretty sure that I'm on my own here, but going back and reading this thread and the couple of comments in the other threads that address it, I see more than a couple of people agreeing with me, and yet don't see anybody agreeing with you.

Don't confuse the fact that I"m the only person here that is actually still amused enough by you to get into tit for tat arguments with you with the fact that everyone here agrees with you.

You can call me whatever names you want. I actually get a big kick out of the fact that you think I'm a dumbass, yet still take the time to answer every single point I make like you're in some sort of life and death argument.

You can twist and spin whatever you need to in order to make yourself feel better. But none of your arguing changes the fact that from the time we went down 14-7 until the end of the first half when the game was decided we ran the ball a total of 3 times and passed the ball a total of 9 times. For a team that is committed to running the football, that's abandoning the run. And all your insults, huffery, and self righteous indignation that anyone would dare argue with you isn't going to change that.

Now if you wish to continue this, just respond. I don't know that I'll go 60 pages with you, but I definitely can keep doing this for a while.

Sure, as I said, Thelt and some other idiots who know nothing about football have said the same thing you did. But once confronted with the facts, most of them had the good sense to shut up.
Stupidity shouldn't go unanswered. It's what separates places like this from places like the Huddle.
Do you really think that no one notices you conveniently setting boundaries where they are less apt to make you look as stupid as you clearly are? Even if you want to stick to the period of time when we were trailing and thus ignore the three straight runs on our second drive, you only want to stop with halftime because you know that there were still more running plays on the first two drives of the second half. Because you know you're wrong, you need to draw those boundaries where you did. That's the same reason why you pretend that passing on first downs or passing the majority of the time means the same thing as "abandoning the running game."

I don't know, I gotta go with Bucko. Even down in games Carolina runs their way back into it. By using the run to set up the pass. We simply can't get away from the run or we are....as we were, screwed. And to be honest, even if only the "idiots" your talking about (which I guess now includes me) agree with Bucko, then where do you fit in, call me stupid. But I haven't seen one person agree with you on the board yet...Maybe they can't stand to read it due to the relentless swearing, and degrading of person, that you simply can't help but do, so that you may feel superior. Not everyone on here is an expert, we 'call them as we see them' [and do not take that as me calling you an expert, as you are by no stretch of the imagination]. If you disagree, make your point, instead of degrading persons, and 'black eyeing character'. There's a reason this board is here, to spread information. Not to degrade persons. I think you need either a reality check, or a maturity check. But It's sickening to read forum/message boards do to narcissistic gentlemen such as yourself.

    I agree with Collin.

It's easy to play armchair QB and look at the box score and make sweeping generalities/accusations. Even I thought that we got away from what we do best. But the play-by-play does not lie and really hit me like a big fuckin' hammer.

We tried to run. And with a couple of big play exceptions, we got stuffed.

The folks bitching that we abandoned the run game would be the same ones complaining about draws on 3rd and long. When in a passing down and distance, you gotta pass.

Again, don't confuse the fact that most people are tired of your act with the fact that most people think you're right.

Then by all means, rock on.

no one notices? I've said it repeatedly so that everyone(actually that's a lie, I mean just you in this case) notices the boundaries I've set. They coincedentally match up with the time that we went down in the game until the time the game was decided.

I want to ignore the three straight runs when the game was tied becuase WHO THE FUCK WOULD ABANDON THEIR GAME PLAN WHILE THE GAME WAS STILL TIED? Hell if you want to include them, why not include our opening drive? It would help bring balance to your numbers.

I want to stop at half time because at no time in the second half were we in the game. They could have run it every single play of the second half and it wouldn't have mattered. "Abandoning the run" doesn't mean you leave it and never come back to it. It means that when the game is on the line, you get away from running the ball. What you do after the game is decided makes no difference.

I'm not wrong...you are. Sit down and take a deep breath, I'm sure you're in shock about being wrong. But it happens, even to you.

On the surface - Deangelo carried 12 times for 63 yards and averaged 5.25 ypc. Good stuff.

Dig a little deeper and back out his runs of 31 and 15 and you get 10 carries for 17 yards.

Don't you think that averaging 1.7 yards per carry on his other 10 totes would put us in a passing down/distance?

Or should we have just run the draw on 3rd and a mile?
