his offense also had a threat of a passing game, where Peterson's didn't. williams runs for three or four hundred less yards and a dozen less TDs with Gus Frerrotte or Tarvaris Jackson handing him the ball and eight defenders waiting in the box for him.

    look it up.

Well lets take out the top run 40 yards for AP in his last game and see what his ypc average looks like then.

Instead of 20att for 83yards and 4.2ypc for Peterson you now get 19att for 43yards and 2.3ypc. Their team total rushing was 34atts 148yards and 4.2ypc, which drops them to 33att 108yards and 3.2ypc. Be glad Jackson had a couple of plays.

that's really nice, but the point I was making was the Cards defense did play well against the run. I'd say the Eagles (who possess a far superior run defense than the Cards) played equally as well against the run when they played Minnesota. Of course, this thread was never a Williams vs. Peterson thread until Chip stepped in and made it one. If you're gonna follow me around like you do, at least try not to get your threads mixed up. It makes you look like a biugger idiot than usual.

So you just conveniently want to forget about the three straight runs when it was 7-7? The third and sixth drives were turnovers on the first play, so obviously there was no further chance to run there. The fourth had two runs on first down before another Delhomme interception. The fifth was a pass followed by a run, which led to 3rd & 7, meaning we had to pass again. On the seventh we had a successful pass on first down and were going to run on 2nd & 3, but Otah false started. Then we got sacked and obviously couldn't run on third and long.

So no, there is absolutely no justification whatsoever for saying that the Panthers "abandoned the run" in the first half. None. If you want to say that we should have only run the ball and not given Delhomme any more chances to fuck up, then that's one thing, but Davidson continued to call running plays when he had the opportunity.

the only bait I need is film from Saturday's game. Arizona shut down Carolina's rushing attack, plain and simple. To pin it all on Delhomme is ridiculous.
