It bothers me that we supplemented Delhomme with the NFC's best running duo, two new receivers and a new first-rounder at RT, and production was down.

Delhomme's 7.9 yards per attempt matched a career high, but his completion percentage dipped back under 60% for the first time since 2004 and his passing attempts per TD ratio was the worst of his career.

2008 was also the first time since '03 that he did not have more passing touchdowns than turnovers.

It's the accuracy. Ain't there. Even on simple crossing routes.

Jake's the first QB since Gannon to throw 5 picks in a playoff game.

    Gannon never recovered.

I'm not worried about him recovering. He'll come back in 09, toss for 3300 yards, 14 TD, 12 INT, 54%, a few fumbles. Recovery is not the issue--production is. This is a production business, and he's making too many poor decisions to justify his salary.

Gannon was putting up massive numbers with Oakland, but his 5 pick day was vs. the league's best defense. Jake's was against the second best defense in the NFC West.

    This place is sad.

Jake had the worst game of his career and it happened to be during the playoffs. It doesn't erase the 12-4 season or his winning record. Go ahead and :hang: him for the Arizona game as he deserves the blame for that loss, but he is still a top QB in the league.
