I hate to dump on one guy but that shit is hard to defend.

I do think we abandoned to run WAY too early. We didnt need to go so pass happy. Even at the end of the first half we had time to gain back some composure with a conrolled drive with 3 mins remaining. But we do our best to give them the ball back as quick as possible for another possesion.

And why we appeared to lack any gameplanning for their only really dangerous weapon is beyond me. And to look on the other side seeing Smitty on zero catches was pathetic.

Jake has to actually get the ball near him for him to have a chance to catch it. All Jake did was throw it right to the Cardinals.

In the eight possessions after our first touchdown, we ran the ball 9 times and passed only 13 despite getting down 27-7 by the end of that span. We absolutely did not abandon the run, and I'm sick of people ignorantly stating as much instead of checking the NFL.com play-by-play log and finding out how wrong they are.

To the casual observer it seemed as though many of Jake's turnovers came on first down so on those drives we really didn't have an opportunity to run the ball.

Two came on first down, three came on second down, and one came on third down. The first down ones were pretty early on, though, so your point has some validity.

After our 2nd drive 3 and out (admittedly all runs), im counting 3 runs to 10 pass attempts till half time. Thats not the kind of balance a running team desires. Its not really worth evaluating after that. Jake turning the ball over on a few of those pass plays obviously help skew the perception as we had less attempts all around.

BTW most people try to state what they saw on the field, or thought they saw (a few beers may affect those views). I cant imagine many checking game logs for accuracy.

actually, you're dead wrong on that Collin. Throw out the 31-yard run by williams early in the game and the Panthers averaged 3.1 per carry. Carolina should have been able to do a lot better than that against that defense.

So, either the Cardinal defense did play well (you said they didn't), or the O-line and backs didn't do their jobs in the running game (you said it was all Jake's fault). Either way, you've been proven wrong...again. Try paying a little closer attention to the facts before you go spouting off next time. It'll save you a ton of embarrassment and shame.

yeah, but after falling behind 14-7 we ran the ball a total of three times for the rest of the half. If that's not abandoning the run, then I think the rest of the world is confused about what the definition of abandoning the run really is.
