I dunno, JUCOS just have this stigma about them, especially in the ACC.

Look at a school like Kansas State, everybody always talks shit about em sayin they built that program in the 90's on JUCOS.

Not necessarily fair, but it does seem that UNC ( and other's) admissions department makes it much more a pain in the ass to get a JUCO player in than questionable high schoolers or preps.

Don't go and tell me that UNC couldn't get him in. If you can get an intellectual giant such as Dwight Jones into school, I'm fairly certain a first grader can get in, much less a JUCO player.

You know all those years where Carolina was shitty but still managed to beat State? Maybe I did, but I don't remember bragging about it at the time. Beating a rival is certainly fun, and this season's embarrassment still stings, but I can't imagine bragging about a losing season.

And I was laughing both about Butch's coaching being "suspect" when he and Bill Belichick are the only two coaches who took Cleveland to the playoffs since 1990, and the idea that Carolina could be in for a "long year" next season. It's ok to admit that you're scared because Tom O'Brien is coaching with Red Shoes' players and hasn't been recruiting any talent to replace them, while Carolina has been bringing in the best recruiting classes the state has ever seen. Recruiting isn't everything, no, but I doubt many people besides Wolfpack fans would say that UNC doesn't have the much brighter future.

This is college football, not the NFL. We are talking about this past year and how Carolina got dominated by State, so as a State fan and having the ALL-ACC QB, I have no worries what UNC is doing on the recruiting trail. Nicks will probably get drafted. Tate,Foster, and Arnold are gone. So between those 4 players are 121 catches for 2019 yards and that is with Tate getting injured halfway through the year. If you take away those four players, UNC WR's accounted for 3 TD's this year. So there is reason for saying it could be a long year.

No, there isn't remotely close to a legitimate reason, it's wishful thinking from a scared State fan. The major media predictions for the ACC next season have UNC with a better record, so they certainly don't agree with you, and it's because Carolina has tons of young talent, including at wide receiver. Having Wilson is definitely nice for State fans, but the fact that O'Brien has failed to bring in much talent at other positions has to be concerning.

OH dear god NO. NOT the MAJOR MEDIA PREDICTIONS !! :bigcry:
How'd that work out for you this year ? Yeah, we're terrified of the Butchie. Great recruiter, can't coach his way out of a paper bag.

They predicted 8 wins, Carolina got 8 wins. And you don't take a team to the NFL playoffs because you're a great recruiter. It's ok to admit that you're scared. Tom O'Brien isn't Sidney Lowe, but obviously State isn't going to be relevant in any major sport for at least another decade.

Collin, both Rivals and Scout ranked TOBs 2008 class better than Butch's 2008 class (though it was close) so let's give that to TOB. Butch's 2009 class is clearly rated better though NCSU's is now looking like a top 35 class which isn't shabby either but we will obviously give that to Butch. So, 1-1 so far in recruiting. Nothing scary there.

And, we have no reason to not say at this point that TOB is the better college coach based on head-to-head. 2-0 is sorta hard to argue with in that regards so nothing scary there.

UNC is losing their top 3 WRs, top 2 OL, top Safety, and a good LB. NCSU loses a RB who was already sharing carries, a TE who missed a good bit of the year, a walk-on starter on the OL, and a Senior OG who converted from the DL before the year began, and a couple of starters on the defense who I could name but you wouldn't really know them anyways as they weren't major producers except maybe Robbie Leonard and Jeremy Gray. And add in that NCSU will get back it's best WR in 2007 as well as depth from the 2008 class that was almost entirely redshirted. Nothing scary to me in that scenario for NCSU.

Obviously, you see things with blue-tinted glasses and I see them with red-tinted glasses but there is absolutely nothing scary about UNC next year regardless of what some media twits write and depending on this 2009 class to come in and produce is nothing more than fancy at best. Butch will be lucky if these academic rejects are able to read a playbook.

Looks like he was bragging about that one game...not the season. Dumbfuck

I thought it was "won a playoff game"??? Oh yeah...you were wrong about that. Like most things. BTW, is that your go-to answer anytime someone mentions that BD might not be the best gameday coach? "Buts he tooks the browns to the playsoffsZQ1211!!" Lets not mention his overall record with the Browns.
You sound like Obama voters that can only mention "hope" and "change".
