OK, I was wrong. He's spent an equal amount of time starting as he had as a backup. He had credit for five years in New Orleans, which is how the league actually determines it, and what I looked up.

"He managed to lead all NFC quarterbacks in overall passer rating during the 2001 and 2002 preseasons." They had their guy in Brooks, they felt, so certainly, was he being groomed to be the starter over Brooks? No. Does that mean conclusively that you know how the Saints felt about him? Of course not.

I wouldn't really put Cassel in that same group for many reasons. I also don't put Delhomme in that group for most reasons.

You never disappoint. "I disagree" becomes "I know the truth and lie about it" just like you took "I disagree" earlier in the year and whined to R&R about it because you thought it was an insult.

Yes. Correct. This was much more useful than, say, you noting that Delhomme was rated 13th in the league by a stat-based website and above average, or responding to someone else posting such a thing. You interpreting what I said about Cassell is much more interesting and rescinds the need to bother talking about Delhomme being rated 13th while you're saying any of 100 would, not could, do as well or better.

Wouldn't I have to say "I don't believe he has a future as a quarterback" for that to be even remotely true? Plus, unlike you, I don't actually say things like that, because I don't pretend to know what a player will conclusively, without chance of variance, do over their entire careers.

The league, and other leagues, have differing opinions over what elite players are, how much players in lower tiers are paid, and those disagreeing opinions happen between clubs, too. You telling every team what to do isn't actually remotely useful.

I'm stating what we'd do, not what's right. With an entrenched starter, the ideal situation is to develop a player, and I doubt we would draft a guy. We don't likely have a shot at an elite level player at our expected draft position this year or likely for a while, but if the right player came along in the 3rd or later I wouldn't be against it. I believe Fox wouldn't do it, but I have no concerns about whether or not that's right.

Or Culpepper, I'm sure, too. I don't know of anyone who would agree that a player who couldn't beat another "sure fire" in Brad Johnson would do better than our first quarterback. I'm sure some would say he could, but not "would". As in, in all certainty.

You've always had a problem with calling opinions as facts and stating your opinions are better than others'. And you're the last person - the absolute last on earth - that should be talking to anyone about semantic argument.
