    I don't understand why you would bump a thread that proves me right, but thanks. Matt Ryan has been solid this season, not elite and certainly not "franchise."

    He's also only a rookie. To say he's not 'franchise' or elite right now might be technically correct. To say he never will be is stupid.

    I didn't say he never will be. I said that I don't think he will be, and I don't. I think he's a good but not great quarterback, and I wouldn't want to be paying him as much as the Falcons are. He's better than I expected him to be as a rookie, but all these people pretending like he's already elite, superstar, or franchise are forgetting what many of them said about Vince Young as a rookie in 2006.
