Why wasn't there a 10 second runoff on the false start, resulting in a saints win?

Guessing the clock was already stopped so it didn't matter.

There was not a 10 second run off against the Saints on their delay of game either.

There had to be a play there regardless, the clock was stopped and they don't end the game on a ball kicked out of bounds.

I actually mentioned the 10 sec runoff against the Panthers, said they were lucky that the clock wasn't running as they would have lost the game without even a shot at the kick.

It has to be in the last minute of the game and does not apply if the clock is already stopped.

I'm not going to be sorry to see Gross playing somewhere else next year to be honest. Reminds me of Steussie too much. He's a human "False Start" penalty waiting to happen.

He really hasn't had a ton. This is at least his second game with two, though, and the number's creaking up toward ten.

He's had a fine season. Gave up the fewest sacks of a left tackle for us, as far as I know. But, sacks and false starts and being decent don't value him completely, and the market is awfully tall for linemen right now.

I'm fine with him coming back, mostly because he's probably going to be. There's very little that's similar to Steussie, FWIW.

He's had too many, regardless. And they seem to come at the most inopportune times. Stupid, stupid penalties that take us out of field goal range, or turn a 3rd and 1 into a 3rd and 6. It's so unnecessary...just a lack of discipline, and someone on the team needs to make an issue of it, whether it's in the pocketbook, extra practice time, or making him room with Mick Mixon on away games.
