How many times do I have to point out that no one gives a shit what you think, monstercat? Everyone is aware that I've hurt the feelings of lots of people and that many of them are bitter about that. I don't see anyone asking to be reminded how you feel. Plus, if you dislike me dominating the Panthers forum, then how does talking about me help your cause?

The reality is this, you Short Bus All-Star: anyone can watch the games and see that Kemoeatu is not occupying double teams. This is not something that requires a great deal of football knowledge, it just requires you to be observant. Open your eyes, dumbass, and see that I'm right. Or you could just notice that no one who actually has any respect in this forum is disagreeing with me about it. And for the third time now, Kemoeatu only missed last week but teams have been gashing us with running plays up the middle since the bye week.

we're a one-gap, and got away from the ideals of hoping big players would occupy blockers for whatever reasons they showed up in the first place, so Kemoeatu really isn't asked to take on multiple blocks by design. What he does do is take up space anyway, you want to see it happen more often but he'll hold the line of scrimmage for you. Compare that to this week, where I remember seeing Beason being blocked downfield, whether directly related or not (alternately you could say some of it was circumstance/formation, and certainly quality of line and opponent overall), a lot more than I traditionally remember.

Kemo is an average player. better than the other guys weve got in rotation vs the run-that doesnt make him an all star or a doormat-anyone who watched alot of games lately can clearly see alot of missed tackles, missed assignments and poor execution(overpursuit) by linebakers and safeties, there seems to be confusion at the snap alot of times as well-good teams will run on that until it gets cleaned up

yeah. To me, I think some of the argument against Kemoeatu is a money issue, and that might matter in March but to me, here and now, it's his worth on the field. Which isn't franchise level or anything more than veteran starter. I thought he was playing very well before the break, and since had been back to being inconsistent.

It's not all about DT, but I've seen a few different sets of LBs in this defense pursue too quickly because of problems on the line, and that's what we're doing now.

But that has nothing whatsoever to do with Kemoeatu, as you pointed out. One blocker is being assigned to the LDT, whether it's Kemoeatu or whoever is filling in for him. I agree that he at least has the potential to hold the line, and therefore is better than Hayden, but he rarely does hold at the point of attack. He doesn't seem to anchor except in high profile short yardage situations, which makes it look like there is a motivation issue. In those situations he does a better job of staying low and not letting the RG get under his pads. The rest of the time he struggles with that, not unlike Sean Gilbert who was similarly tall for a DT.

And once again, every single opponent has had 100+ rushing yards against us since the bye week except for Tampa Bay. We were talking about our weakness up the middle against the run long before Kemoeatu got hurt.

to me those big runs on the edge last week were all due to guys being out of position and being a little nosy-sure the giants blocked well but there was no contain on the outside and no dbs down the field in position to help out kinda goes back to the do your job mantra-at least we wouldnt be getting gashed like that

Another good point. As I already said, we did a good job against Jacobs. As you correctly put it, the Giants were gashing us to the outside last week. Whether due to overpursuit or just quality run blocking, Ward usually had one man to beat and then twenty yards of open field.

yeah that and somehow no one on the defense read the shotgun draw....the 3rd or 4th time shoulda been a goddamn clue it was coming
basic stuff kept us from winning last week

The one time we read it correctly was the two point conversion where they ran it as play action.
