    That doesn’t mean other coaches aren’t testing Oku’s conviction, even some that have been reported as candidates for UT’s vacant coaching position.

    Oku never considered North Carolina, until he first talked to Tar Heel head coach Butch Davis on Monday.

    “He said he’s not leaving (UNC) period,” Oku wrote in a text message to the News Sentinel.

    That would seem to make the Davis-to-UT possibility that much more unlikely. Not only is Davis still actively recruiting for North Carolina; he’s also apparently trying to benefit from UT’s tumultuous situation. Davis has publicly denied interest in the UT job.


    Oku said he didn’t know if he would consider North Carolina if he decided to de-commit from UT.

    “It will be a whole different list of schools,” said Oku, who considered Clemson, Florida State, Louisville and Michigan before his UT commitment.

    Oku plans to enroll in in college January.

    I feel bad for this guy, no way to end your year no matter what school you represent...

    "North Carolina senior linebacker Mark Paschal sustained a cervical spine injury in the Tar Heels’ game Saturday against N.C. State, UNC announced Tuesday afternoon."

    EDIT: His football career is over, horrible news for a tough football player...

    he's a senior, he wasn't going pro - it was going to be over after Saturday anyway.

    Well that wasn't my point, my point is that he has played well this year and to sustain a injury like this that could have lasting affects on his life. I mean a broken arm is one thing but when it deals with your spine, thats a area that really worries me for any person, so many things that could go wrong in the spine that could affect your whole body. Best of luck to him with his future plans.

    Good story in USA TODAY about Xavier Nixon. He still considering Carolina but whispers are that he will go to Florida.

    no he's not. UNC dropped out of the picture last week. Not sure why he wont go ahead and just commit to Florida? His dad has been in the military his entire life, so he has no ties to NC.

    That's not what I have been told. Carolina has not given up on the chance that he will end up a Tar Heel. It's still likely to be Florida.
