Will be the head coach of Notre Dame in 2010...unless Weis wins a National Championship or goes to a BCS bowl game next year.

How much do you want to wager on that?

With the trend of big names faltering when they switch programs and the economy I just don't see it at all. How dumb would he have to be to leave one of the best if not the best program in the country to go to Indiana? I don't think there's enough money to make that a wise decision considering he could quite easily fail there.

He's in one of the elite conferences, he's got a great recruiting base, he's at an elite team and he has no rebuilding to do under immense pressure.

ND football can't get much worse, they should just Weis work out his contract and see if he can make something work there.

Pretty sure I've heard that ND is Meyer's dream job. I can totally see him going there at some point.

I think they will either have Skip Holtz or Meyer within the next 3 years.

He's already turned down ND for Florida. That doesn't make sense.

You're right. Makes no sense at all...

Meyer talks Notre Dame on radio show

posted by Jeremy Fowler on Dec 11, 2008 12:39:33 PM

Don't know if anybody in South Florida heard this, but Urban Meyer talked about Notre Dame still being his "dream job" on a radio show after Wednesday's pre-bowl press conference with Bob Stoops. Before any Gators fans get indigestion, there seems to be some context here. Listen to the audio on WQAM-560 HERE.

I don't want to overanalyze this, but Florida can't feel too special about this one. It almost reads as if Florida is the rebound girlfriend. You've got to think that although Meyer was just being honest, and I respect his candor on the matter, he didn't intend on slighting Florida. He has no reason to. In the end, it sounds like Notre Dame could be Meyer's destination once his son, Nate, is growing into his high school and Meyer can non-stop recruit.
