    The Fed hit bottom today. Unless the plan on paying banks to borrow money from each other, there's nowhere else to go but up. 0-.25% fed funds rate. 1954.

    What makes you think we have hit bottom? Lots of mortgages haven't reset yet, then there is commercial real estate and then credit card debt.

    Alt-A's and Option ARMs too. It will be mid 2011 by the time this works itself out of the system. Obama had better be prepared to spend a lot of money to generate the kind of debt we need to keep this puppy barking.

    We should have been directly alleviating the problem at the source (individual mortgage assistance), rather than paying Paulson's and Greenspan's buddies.

    You can't deal with individual mortgages without dealing with the mortgage backed securities.
