Yeah, that sucks! He was taking ISU in positive direction and I had hoped he'd be around to make them a factor in the Big 12 again.
Good hire for Auburn though, he's a damn good coach and relatively unknown.

You're serious? Auburn runs off Tuberville to wind up hiring Chizik? I can't imagine the Auburn faithful are holding celebration parties on this hiring. I'm sure Aururn fans are thinking "The Tide gets Nick Saban and we get fuckin' Gene Chizik?????"

Looked at a couple ISU forums and a few Auburn sites, the Cyclone fans were happy Auburn got him and the War Eagle fans are saying "WTF?". Who knows whether it was a good hire or not. But if I were the AD I would have sweet-talked Brian Kelly at Cincinnati and offered whatever it took to get him to say "Yes". Just my opinion, but I watch Cincinnati play a few times this year and Kelly would have been a perfect fit. I think they'll be revisiting this situation within 5 years.

The Auburn faithful are not happy. It would be my assumption that after next season, if Chizik doesn't do extrememly well, the AD can go ahead and pack his bags too. However, there is a money man here in Auburn that could have had a huge say in this. We shall see. Probably one of the most dumbfounding moves I've ever seen in college athletics.

I agree, but if Chizik is successful right out of the gate the AD will look like a genius, course they will be Tuberville's recruits at first.

Don't let ISU's record fool you, Chizik did a nice job of recruiting and had a number of underclassmen starting this year. They got blown out a couple times, but they were a very competitive team that showed thier inexperience.
Had he stayed, I think the Cyclones would have challenged for the North title in 2010.
Not sure who ISU will go after, I'd like to see them take a look at UNI HC Mark Farley, but the Chizik hire tells me they'll look for an up and coming coordinator or they could try to take a run at Mike Stoops or someone else with Iowa ties.

Of the SEC teams, I have always liked Auburn the most. Their defenses are generally fun to watch. The key is going to be the OC, if Chizik can get a VERY good OC/Asst. HC they should be in really good shape...although I don't care for the guy he had at ISU so much.
Auburn fan needs to chill, they'll be happy with this hire in a couple years and it's not like the cupboard is bare to start.

dont let the record fool you? I'm not, it is horrible. Possibly the worst hire Ive ever seen. The guy already left Auburn for Texas in a lateral move. Not sure why Auburn went back to him. Has lost 10 games in a row. Recruiting is ranked in the 70's and last in the big 12. Considering all the other options, the hire was terrible. You know its a bad hire when Alabama fans even feel sorry Auburn.

I agree with McFly. This guy lost, what, all his conference games? That's impressive consistancy right there. Its easy to see why Tiger fans are so excited by this hire.
