it's odd that you use the idea that most major religions subscribe to the single god rule as a basis of it likely being true, but then totally discount everything else those religions say as tho they can't be believed or are flat out wrong.

how do experience and observation tell you anything about the number of divine beings there are?

hmm... that doesn't really seem applicable here.

Not at all, I just don't confuse God with the various celebrations and pagentries of churches.

Maybe I should've included introspection somewhere in my post(?).

I think it's applicable to a discussion of Did Man create God, or did God create Man.

Maybe so, but that wasn't/isn't my intent.

Jazz, I have to agree with you. A few years ago in church the topic was churchanity vs Christianity.

what about the customs and teachings? inconsequential?

if by "introspection" you mean "gut feeling" then sure. but then, isn't that a guess?

but chicken and eggs are a natural cycle. eggs "make" chickens and chickens make eggs. both are true, but one "came first" as the saying goes. compared to god and man where there is no cycle. either god created man, man created god, or neither created each other. but it makes no sense to say that god created man who then created god. unless, i guess, you're saying that god that man created is fictional. but then, that fictional god could create nobody since he's fictional so there's still no cycle.
