VT was stupid and was trying to redshirt Taylor which allowed ECU to set up in pass defense because Glennon wasn't going to beat ECU with his feet. If Taylor plays, ECU has to watch the pass and running mobility of Taylor which can provide one-on-one match ups for receivers instead of them getting double coverage every passing play due to Glennon not being able to run with the ball like Taylor. Taylor has game breaking abilities and he would have made a difference in the game but goiter neck was being stupid and he cost VT the game.

 

Cant argue that. I still think we would have won. Glennon played decent for them in some games the previous year and they won the ACC then too. We seemed to shut down Pat White the very next week...he's (IMO) more dangerous than Taylor.

Also...as far as the NCSU matchup....the underdog has won that game the past 3 years (ECU won in '06 in Raleigh in Holtz's 2nd year) . Cant really explain it...and wont make excuses...State fans can say its not a rivalry game but it is and you cant really look at records to try and predict the outcome.

 

We also had a 6-6 record and facing Rutgers who has won 6 straight, while Kentucky was close to losing 6 straight
