WAY less than if you break down Manny's for every at bat.

if CC stays healthy and throws an average of 85 pitches a game, for the regular season he would make just over $9,700 a pitch. Manny made a little over $36,000 per at bat last year, or just a little over $12,000 for every pitch he saw at the plate.

It's like you can't even go a whole day without saying something amazingly stupid. C.C. Sabathia won the American League Cy Young award with Cleveland in 2007, you retard. He had a 3.22 ERA in 2006 and a 3.21 ERA in 2007. He's the only pitcher under thirty with a realistic chance of reaching 300 wins. Because of his poor conditioning I question how effective he'll be towards the end of the contract, but to say that he was never great with Cleveland is just stunningly idiotic.

and by the way....a big offense may win a few games over the course of the season, but pitching and defense wins championships......example: 2008 Tampa Bay Rays vs 2008 New York Yankees.

This deal as insane as it is will start the ball rolling for the other free agent pitchers. Lowe and Burnett are going to be overpaid even more now because of the Yankees. It was a given that he ended up in New York but at these prices ?

....Sorry WiseOne, but Lowe is on the Yankees list also.
Watch for another top 5 pitcher, including Lowe to get mcdaddy deals with the Yanks! Then they'll trade Hughes and some more cash for a premier CF.
    Marlinfan....as in fishing not baseball.
