He's a very good coach, no doubt, but there are other coaches that I think are better. Colleges in NC have great coaches.......Grobe, OBrien, Holtz, Butch, Moore......its amazing when you think about it.

Yes he should stay, I mean the stars will align and the ND job will fall right into his lap, sounds like a good plan to me. He needs to get out of ECU and run for higher ground, he had a great year and he should leave the program on a good note, he might even get a new building named after him.

syracuse is not higher ground. They are in the basement of the Big East and their facilities aren't really an upgrade from ECU. I think he is at ECU another season or two then he is going to go to a top tier program like ND or an SEC / Big 12 team.

If you can take a pause from that semi-coherent, punctuation-less drivel you spew around this board like fire-hosed diarrhea, I'll repeat myself yet again over something I've already explained countless times.

Carolina hasn't excelled at football because for several obvious reasons. #1) No university excels in every sport. UNC cracked the top 10 on occasion under Mack Brown, just as Ohio State occasionally gets up there in basketball and UCLA occasionally does it in football. But no university can be consistently elite in most of the major sports. The fact is that Carolina is among the best when it comes to the achievements of the athletic department in total. #2) North Carolina has the highest number of universities per capita of any state in the country. That means lots of competition over whatever local recruits there are, and N.C. isn't exactly a hotbed for high school football.
Wrong. In fact, just stop talking altogether because you are embarrassing yourself the more you post. Mack brought in the best recruiting classes UNC football had ever seen until Butch, but as far as I know, not even he had any ranked in the top 10. Meanwhile Torbush and Bunting didn't even come close to that.
Thanks for the info, Hulkamaniac. That "laughter" is really just envy. Other ACC schools envy UNC's success and prestige. Sure, I freely acknowledge that Carolina puts out more condescending assholes than any other university in the state. I'm sure that many even have a bidet in the bathroom. But whatever the stereotypical alumnus, the university itself is envied by others because those people wish their school had as much history, as high a profile, or as many achievements.
The only school that can talk shit is N.C. State, and even the Wolfpack had a worse record overall. Carolina was widely considered the best team in the ACC until that game, and that's with them also being one of the youngest teams in the league. You had better get in your shit talking now because you're not even going to show up to this board or any other next year. Or if you do, you'll be insisting that you pulled for Carolina all along.

Butch didn't win a playoff game in the NFL because of his recruiting.

They may be horrible right now...and not getting much support. But it is REALLY hard to get past the "BCS" conference tag.

It sucks but that's just how it is. Hell, we already pay them man around the Top 30 in the nation...if he stays until January he gets a $600k bonus. We average more fans per game than all but 3 teams in the BigEast.

We still cant offer him what is being reported Syr did (2.5mil/yr), though, and all he has to do is win the conf to make it to a BCS game.

Holland has only made one bad hire since he's been the AD (Ricky Stokes), though, so I feel comfortable that he will make a good choice should Skip decide to leave. And, as you mentioned earlier, DC Hudson should absolutely be one of, if not the, 1st interview.

3 or 4 times. IMO, that's a product of the school system in Alamance county rather than the kid.

Twice now that's been you're only point when responding to my opinion that BD isnt the best gameday coach.

    24-35 record with the Browns?

...BTW, he didnt win a playoff game.
