that statement just proves you have never played 1 down of football in your life-your self proclaimed intellegence cant see that-that is why the cowboys havent won a playoff game in years- once the guys that won those superbowls that had passion that had it left they cant win and wont win despite having the most talent of any team in the league-your attempts at analysis only show how little you know about the game-any idiot can look at a stat sheet and skew those numbers into anything he wants them to say-arguing the same piont over and over doesnt make it right-if you dont like him go watch someone else, root for another team-you wont cause youre full of shit and just want to argue and be contrary
if stats are so important to you then why follow this team-i mean from day 1 its never been stat friendly-point is if you have something truthful to say say it, but dont try to pawn off your personal dislike as knowing what the fuck youre talking about

Those guys have zero playoff wins. Combined, they don't have the come from behind victories ( Delhomme's major, if only, redeeming value ) that Delhomme has.

That's what makes me say it. You apparently disagree, that's cool. You may be right, that's fine. But that's why I say it, and it's valid.

It's also fair to say that Smith is the sole reason he's done well - but at least 5 other QB's have had Smith as their stud and couldn't get it done as effectively:

    Weinke
    Peete
    Moore
    Carr
    Testaverde

Aarron Rodgers is by all accounts a better fucking QB than Delhomme. In the two minute drill, I'll take Delhomme. I don't know why he's had better results ( I didn't say better, I said he's had better results ), but he has.

    Black Magic.

In San Diego, Gross looked at him in the huddle in the 2 minute and said 'this is what you do'. I think it's a big fucking deal that they say that - because he's done it. Other than 2 games in 2006 ( Cincy and Philly - huge downers ), It seems like he always does it. He may not always do it, but it seems like he does, and his teammates - including Smitty - believe it.

Delhomme seems to elevate the play of those around him when it really fucking matters. In my mind, that's what puts him above the other easy to find replacements you're talking about. If you don't agree, that's cool too, because I see your point.

All this said - I bet Tampa destroys him. :cheer:

Didn't Jake have a pretty decent year in 2004 without Smith?

Some guys perform better under pressure than their average and some guys perform worse than their average when the stakes are higher. There definitely is a psychological/emotional component to the game.

yes, that's exactly what people are saying, that he throws "one good pass every few games."

Delhomme had Stallworth and Joe Horn in New Orleans. Even the head coach there at the time has since regretted not going with Delhomme. It's not a matter of him having a superior offense or supporting cast here. In 2002, who would you rather have had? New Orleans' receivers or Carolina's?

And for people ragging that last pass, sure. It was a jump ball. In 20 mph wind. It wasn't the greatest, no. It got there. Overthrow that by 5 yards and we don't win.

Yeah, Delhomme responded well to having Carr in. Granted, Carr was a loser, but there was no impending doom there.

We do have McCown, for right or wrong a guy this staff apparently did covet. While it's the right time to bring in a young guy, that young guy could be Moore in their eyes still. I don't see radical change here with this staff. And I don't see this staff going anywhere.

I don't know about that. I think we're gonna really be up for this game, whoever wins it obviously has a big edge on winning the division and getting a home game, and this year we haven't lost at home. What we need is to stop Garcia from doing whatever he wants.

Smitty had to run to get in position to jump for it, it's not like he fielded a punt. It went 45 yards past the line of scrimage. And I'm sure he knows better than anyone what Smitty can do. In no way was that a bad pass.

Really, while we are having another Delhomme argument after a win, the defense is the 1000 pound while elephant in the room right now.

Despite another individual good game from Julius, despite pinning them deep time after time, the defense got shredded by a quick passing game.

Garcia's going to be running around and trying to make plays all game. Someone other than Julius better come to play. We need everybody with their game face on.
