the team believes him special. They respond to him. He gets it done well enough.

People will just have to be continually unhappy that this team is cursed with John Fox and Jake Delhomme for a while longer. After that maybe we can go back to the greatness that we had before they were here.

Evidently the team leadership believes that Jordan Gross is special too. Are you buying that as well? The reality is that the facts all support one side and it isn't yours. That's why you resort to defending Jake by insisting that the team "believes him special." That's a pathetically weak argument and you know it, but you're incredibly defensive when it comes to any criticism of Delhomme.

The question being whether Jordan Gross should be starting at an important position? Certainly, yes. Anything contracturally is gray area, but not what you brought up for Delhomme.

that's great salesmanship, but not correct.

They do. The coach, the players, they do respond to him. They state so often. He comes up more times than not when it matters.

We could play this game all day, but not relevant. Plus, you're reacting to everyone saying things of this nature.

At any rate, I guess you'll have to suffer through a few more years of this. You and this thread do not get along.

Jake has lost several games, too. It cuts both ways.

The question being whether or not Delhomme and Gross actually are special just because the team acts like they are. Clearly neither player is special, regardless of who believes what.
It is, which is why you never present any facts or statistics in your defense of Delhomme. You rely on nonsense like "the team believes him special."

There are a lot of guys that play the QB position better than Jake.

Very few can win like him.

    And that is a 'no-shitter'.

Factually. Delhomme isn't special. Because it's your opinion. This is irrefutable logic.

I've quoted statistics in this thread today, so this looks fairly silly.

Fans who think that wins come from PASSION! rather than talent and execution are the ones who also believe that certain players have magical powers that make their team win in crucial moments. Delhomme takes risks. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. We've been having this same argument for years now, and at one point in 2006 I went through the list of games Jake "won" with games he "lost." The final tally was pretty much even between the two sides, but certain people tend to remember the dramatic wins more than the awful losses.

Delhomme isn't special because the numbers and other facts show that. He isn't accurate, he often makes bad decisions with the football, and his receivers bail him out frequently. The completion percentage, the interceptions, and the limited production from players not named Smith or Muhammad all show that.
No, it's accurate. The statistics show that Jake is not special. You have a personal need to believe that he's special regardless of the facts. People have seen you say unbelievably stupid things like insisting that most of the team played as badly as Jake did during the Oakland game because you're so incredibly sensitive about anyone criticizing him.
