Either bowl is fine with me for the Heels. Been a long time. Tire bowl would be easier to tail gate. Peach Bowl is in a ghetto

BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, Miami - Jan. 8, 8 p.m., Fox
Matchup: BCS No. 1 vs. BCS No. 2
This week's projection: Texas vs. Penn State

When the smoke settles and the dust clears, look for So Cal to get in the BCS ( 1 too many letters ) National Championship Game. When they get in it, they will be the odds on favorite over whomever.

ESPN gives ACC teams latest hopes:
Boston College -- The Eagles have to win their last two games to make it to the ACC Championship Game for a possible trip to the Orange Bowl. What has hurt the Eagles in the past is the fact their fan base doesn't travel well.
Possibilities: Orange Bowl, Chick-fil-A Bowl, Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl, Music City Bowl, Meineke Car Care Bowl, Emerald Bowl
    Prediction: Emerald Bowl
Clemson -- The Tigers need to beat Virginia on the road and win at home against South Carolina in order to be bowl eligible.
Possibilities: Roady's Humanitarian Bowl, Eagle Bank Bowl
Prediction: The Tigers beat UVa but lose at home to South Carolina.
Duke -- The best is behind them this season. The biggest obstacle left on the Blue Devils' schedule is their trip to Virginia Tech this weekend, and they have to beat the Hokies and UNC to go to a bowl.
    Possibilities: Eagle Bank Bowl
Prediction: The Blue Devils have to wait until next year.
Florida State -- The Seminoles can still play in the ACC title game, but their chances decreased significantly with last week's loss to Boston College. It looks like another seven-win season for the Seminoles.
Possibilities: Orange Bowl, Gator Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl, Chick-fil-A, Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, Emerald Bowl, Meineke Car Care Bowl
    Prediction: Gator Bowl
Georgia Tech -- The Yellow Jackets should be proud they're even going to a bowl game, considering the new coaching staff, offense and defense. Their record against Coastal Division opponents will make a trip to Tampa tough.
Possibilities: Meineke Car Care, Emerald Bowl, Music City Bowl
    Prediction: Meineke Car Care
Maryland -- The Terps have home-field advantage this week, but will have a tough time in Chestnut Hill if BC is also playing for a trip to Tampa.
Possibilities: Orange Bowl, Chick-fil-A, Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl
    Prediction: Chick-fil-A
Miami -- The Hurricanes are the only two-loss team in the Coastal Division and control their own destiny. As much as the folks at the Gator Bowl would probably love to host Miami, the Hurricanes can still wind up back in Dolphin Stadium.
Possibilities: Orange Bowl, Gator Bowl, Chick-fil-A Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl
    Prediction: Orange Bowl
North Carolina -- The Tar Heels are on the outside-looking in when it comes to the Orange Bowl, but have a good shot at finishing 9-3.
Possibilities: Orange Bowl, Chick-fil-A, Gator Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl, Music City Bowl, Meineke Car Care Bowl, Emerald Bowl
    Prediction: Music City
NC State -- The Wolfpack need to win their two remaining games against North Carolina and Miami to become bowl eligible.
Possibilities: Humanitarian Bowl, Eagle Bank Bowl
Prediction: The Pack loses at least one of its last two games and is home for Christmas.
Virginia -- The Cavaliers still need one more win to become bowl eligible and have games against Clemson and Virginia Tech to earn it.
Possibilities: Humanitarian Bowl, Eagle Bank Bowl
Prediction: The Cavaliers finish the season 0-2 and miss a bowl game.
Virginia Tech -- The Hokies aren't out of it yet, and the fans travel well, so they should wind up in one of the top three bowls.
Possibilities: Orange Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl, Gator Bowl, Chick-fil-A Bowl
    Prediction: Champs Sports Bowl
Wake Forest -- The Demon Deacons are playing like a 6-6 team as of late, but still have an outside shot at playing for the ACC title.
Possibilities: Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, Meineke Car Care Bowl, Emerald Bowl, Humanitarian Bowl
    Prediction: Humanitarian

I just hope that the ACC does well in its bowl games. They should since the Big East champ looks less than daunting and most others figure to be a favorable match-up, but we'll need a strong performance to mute some of that criticism. Having the best regular season record against other BCS conferences last year didn't stop those analysts from bashing the ACC.
