    - one and done pg more than likely.

    - 5 man recruiting class already. IF they get a 6th player, I think they would want Dominic Cheek more.

    - Kendall Marshall has already gave a verbal (2010)

I of course don't know this for sure, but I am guessing coaches of any hardcore program like UNC, dook and such would prefer to stay clear of one and dones if possible. It does take a lot more work when you start having several players like that on your team very short-term from the standpoint of having to guess who will be here and not here and how much they need to recruit.

Well Marvin Williams didn't exactly do much for UNC. Who else am I missing?

That's who I was thinking of, and I'd say he was pretty major that year. Durrant was good for TX and maybe you could say Beasely.

But overall, I agree with you. One and doners are no way to have long term success.

    you being sarcastic?

As a freshman, Williams was an integral part of the North Carolina 2004-2005 national championship basketball team. He averaged 11.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in 22.2 minutes. As the team's sixth man, Williams provided the veteran Tar Heels squad with an explosive spark off the bench. He scored the go ahead basket at home vs. Duke to beat Duke. He scored the go-ahead basket in North Carolina's 75-70 victory over the University of Illinois in the 2005 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship game. Williams was recognized for his efforts when he was named as an Honorable Mention to the All-ACC team.

Good point about Durant, and you can throw Oden in there too. I guess one and done is ok as long as you're not pinning your hopes on them and they're solid character guys.

No. Williams probably would have been great eventually, but I don't think he meant much to that team. In the quarters, semis, and final of that NCAA tournament Marvin had 8, 2, and 6 points respectively.

Beat me to it. I was going to point out they won in spite of Marvin Williams. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights in the FF. The most I remember about him in the finals was his ability to throw up a brick every time he took a shot.
