Wall would be a bad pick up for either UNC or dook. Notice he had Baylor on his list - BAYLOR? The #1 PG in the nation going to BAYLOR? Reason is there is an AAU coach/relative ( I can't remember which just remember there is a close connection) got a job as an assistant at Baylor. This kid is going to walk in with an entourage and will want to run the show from day one.

No way Roy would take him and I can't believe K would want a one and done head case like that.

I'll get to see what all the fuss is about on MLK Day. Ragsdale is playing Word of God (Wall's private school team) in Greensboro in their annual MLK basketball tourney. Always somes good teams playing there.

You need to study up on your hoops some more. Baylor should have one of the best backcourts in the country this year.

Baylor hires John Wall's AAU coach
    Posted on: July 31, 2008 4:26 pmScore: 95

It appears Baylor will land the No. 1 basketball recruit in the country.

D-One Sports coach Brian Clifton told CBSSports.com on Thursday that Baylor has hired his brother and assistant, Dwon Clifton, as its director of player development. On the surface, it's a meaningless transaction. But given that the Cliftons coach elite point guard John Wall, sources have indicated this transaction will lead to Baylor gaining a commitment from the Class of 2009's top prospect, and sooner rather than later.

"After receiving offers from several schools in the Big 12 and many other conferences, Dwon has decided to accept a coaching position at Baylor University," Brian Clifton said via text message. "Dwon will rejoin his former collegiate coach Matt Driscoll as a member of the Bears staff."

Driscoll was an assistant for Larry Shyatt at Clemson when Dwon Clifton played there earlier this decade, but that's barely crucial to the equation. The key to this development is Clifton's relationship with Wall, a quick and fast and dominant point guard who was spectacular in the Reebok Summer Championships last week in Las Vegas while leading D-One Sports to a runners-up finish.

Officially, Wall is still considering Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Oregon, North Carolina State, Southern California and Texas in addition to Baylor. But that list should be dwindled to one in the coming weeks as the Clifton hiring precipitates Wall's imminent commitment to the Bears

Davis and Zeller look like keepers. Drew didn't look to bad either.

I have kept track of the John Wall recruiting scene and he is definitely an interesting character. His whole style is made for the "And 1" section of the basketball population, his numerous mix tapes on youtube is proof enough.

The fact that he is wating till spring signing period has created buzz to an extent as to where he will eventually end up. First off, you got the situation with Baylor where Wall's AAU coach took a job there. Then you got those who believe Wall may actually shock a lot of people and stay in Raleigh to play for NC State. Trust me, I would need a new pair of undies if Wall committed to the Pack but I see that as a 30 percent chance at best. God knows we need him but you gotta be realistic about it. I think we'll know a whole lot more after he makes his trip to Memphis, wouldn't shock me if we get a verbal shortly thereafter.

Wall's style isn't that of Roy and Coach K, but I find it a bit interesting that Duke's name is being thrown in some as of recent weeks. I can personally vouch for Roy's lack of interest. I was down in Raleigh last year to watch the Glaxo tourney, Roy was there and he didn't as much say hello to Wall after a game, infact Roy was more interested in current Duke signee Ryan Kelly (at that time). Truth to be known about Kelly, it was his good showing in the Glaxo that caused his stock to soar. He went from a 2/3-star to a 5-star in a year's time.

Does it suck that Zeller is out for the season?
