Oh dear god two players, thats the best you can do?

This article was written before the Duke game

TWELVE INJURED STARTERS MISS TIME IN 2008
NC State’s injury troubles were well documented in 2007, with 13 starters missing time in 44 total games, with six starters missing multiple games.

So far during 2008, NC State has already had 12 starters - including projected starters - miss playing time because of injury for a total of 56 games. All 12 of the players have each missed multiple games because of injury.
Redshirt freshman starting quarterback Russell Wilson returned to the starting lineup against Clemson after suffering a concussion in the second quarter of the opening game loss to USC. He played one snap - as a holder on an extra point - against William & Mary in the second game. He missed the South Florida loss with an undisclosed injury, but is now cleared and has started the last two games.
Redshirt senior tight end Anthony Hill was out indefinitely after suffering a pectoralis strain after playing in the opener and catching his first pass since 2006. Hill missed all of 2007 with a knee injury but returned to action against BC.
Hill’s replacement in the starting lineup for the second game against William & Mary, Matt Kushner, suffered a season-ending knee injury in the contest.
Redshirt junior Jamelle Eugene, the team’s starting tailback heading into the season, missed the first three games of the year after leading the team in rushing and being named team MVP in 2007.
Junior wideout Donald Bowens, the team’s top returning receiver by yardage and per catch average in 2007, was diagnosed with lower back stress fractures that will keep him sidelined in 2008. Bowens was a lock to start.
Clem Johnson, a junior college transfer who could have started at safety for the Pack to open the season, broke his jaw in the team’s second scrimmage and missed the first four games of the season, but saw his first playing time against USF before notching his first career interception against BC.
Johnson was slated to start for injured safety Javon Walker, who had knee surgery and is out for the year after being injured in the Miami game late in the 2007 season.
Starting defensive tackle Alan-Michael Cash - who O’Brien called the teams best lineman this season - and the Pack’s most experienced offensive lineman, Curtis Crouch, each missed three games this season but returned to action against FSU.
Redshirt sophomore linebacker Nate Irving, arguably the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Year after the first four games this season, has missed three games now with an ankle injury. He returned for the FSU game after missing a pair of games before reinjuring his ankle and missing the Maryland game. In addition, redshirt junior tailback Toney Baker had knee surgery prior to the 2008 opener and is out for the season. Baker suffered a season-ending

That article shows how injuries have hurt NC State this year...NC State lost another Shea McKenn(D-line and started agaisnt WF) this week due to a broken ankle. Still want to compare injuries?

Are you talking about Andrew Brackman? The two sport guy that played basketball and baseball? Beck is a back-up QB and plays no other sport than football.

Noticed how "one of the best" was in bold. I did that so someone so stupid as you couldn't get it wrong or mis-read it, but you prove me wrong. If you look at his career numbers at NC State it will show he is probably the best NC State QB ever and one of the best in ACC history.

I wasn't expecting State to immediately start contending for conference championships, but I definitely expected better discipline. NCSU got to be known for penalties and buffoonery under Red Shoes, but not much has changed since then. I guess there's less showboating, but still a lot more mental mistakes than you saw out of Boston College.

You're talking about the difference between the Panthers losing Jake Delhomme or losing a bunch of no-names. They'd rather lose the no-names, or at least they did until the last two weeks. Obviously State can't lose anyone as good as Tate or Yates to injury because you guys don't have anyone that good on your team, but regardless, those two losses clearly made more of an impact than your thirteen scrubs combined. The fact is that every team has injuries, and how you deal with them is part of your season. The losses don't count as anything else just because you weren't at full strength. You either get it done or you don't, and Carolina didn't get it done three separate times this year.

uh, what are you talking about? do you know how to fucking read? I simply stated that if NC State didn't get lucky by taking the center fielder from the baseball team, then they would still be stuck with Harrison Beck or Daniel Evans at QB. He was recruited and accepted to NC State barring he could play both football and baseball - yet another player that will leave a primary sport at NC State to go pro in baseball. That must feel great.

I didn't break out the injury report either, besides the 2 best players on the team they have been missing 3-5 average, I mean NC State style of players on the team as well. Granted, NC State has had horrible injuries, but that's a part of the game. If TOB and Chuckles didn't do such a bad job recruiting, then the injuries wouldn't be a problem.

No names? Did you read the article?

    Donald Bowens...Jemelle Eugene...Nate Irving...Anthony Hill...Toney Baker?

I was hoping for more discipline also then I remembered who our coach use to be and it came back to me. As a new coach, you can't change the mentality of players that were here for so long with the old coach. Amato was known for being flashy and having fun but a lot of games we lost is due to the stupidity of the players which stems from coaching. Amato did do some great things for NC State football during his time here but I wasn't to sad to see him go because it was time for a change. The coaching styles of TOB and Amato is like night and day. That's why I am optomistic for TOB that he can get things turned around for State. Looking at his record at BC and seeing how Matt Ryan learned under his system gives me hope that TOB will have NC State at a winning level either next year or two years from now.

Ryan Pond? If you had a chance to make more money at baseball than football, you would be an idiot for not choosing baseball.

It is tough to play a sport at any college, much less play two sports. Then putting classes and a social life on top of that is hard for college kid to do. Russell Wilson did it last year and is doing it again this year but you hardly hear of a lot of kids doing that because of the stress of that certain sport and the amount of class and homework you have. Playing two sports in college is great but it will eventually wear you down and you have to make certain decisions like deciding which sport to give up and which one to pursue.
