Where did I insult you? Remember, you showed up in this thread and tried to make me look bad with an inaccurate comment.

I asked legit questions that I'm guessing you can't answer. If you know he was being "doubled alot" then tell me how. What coverage shells where they using? How about just telling me what shell they tended to throw at Cassel in obvious passing downs?

Let's talk football, not "I saw him being doubled a lot."

I'll wait while you google away.

"You clearly know nothing about the game"

It wasn't inaccurate, you said Welker was singled 'all day,' I didn't see that.

Nice diversion, but if I'm so outrageously wrong you can find something to prove it, right?

You clearly don't. Remember, you attacked me first.

I said Cassel would throw to a single covered reciever over someone being doubled all day. Bit of a difference.

No diversion, I'm simply proving that you don't really know what you are talking about. You have no knowledge of defensive coverage shells and just decided to start shit with me with an ignorant, blanket statement with nothing to back it up except "I saw him doubled a lot". You didn't see him doubled and you can't even give me one coverage you saw last night.

The guy has 72 catches through 10 games and 112 last season. He's not seeing a lot of safety help since teaming with Randy Moss because Moss demands safety help over the top every play. Before being teamed with Moss he never caught more than 67 passes in a season. It's not a coincidence and it's not the QB.

Erpi, you should tuck your tail and run on this one. Presidence has proven his football knowledge, while no one has any reason to think that you have any. I didn't see the game, so I can't comment on that, but based on past experience I would presume that presidence is correct. Especially on plays where the HB and/or TE stays in to help block (and the Pats have been running a lot of max protect lately), the nickel linebacker to that side will generally help on Welker in the slot. So yes, he's usually doubled unless he's running a route to the boundary. Welker still beats that coverage because he's quicker than the men covering him, but the reason he gets looks while Moss doesn't is that Cassell is scared to throw deep.

Former NFL scout and player Bucky Brooks:

Right out of the Pats playbook

While watching the Jets blanket Randy Moss and Wes Welker for most of the game during their impressive 34-31 overtime win Thursday night, I noticed that Eric Mangini used a trick learned from his days as a Patriots' assistant to neutralize his former team's top playmakers.
The Jets unveiled a hybrid "two-man bracket" coverage in the first half that effectively double-teamed Moss and Welker on passing downs. The scheme, which the Patriots used to frustrate Peyton Manning and the Colts in the 2004 AFC Championship Game, uses a combination of press coverage and two-deep principles to disrupt the timing and rhythm of the passing game. In the scheme, corners are instructed to aggressively "press" or jam receivers at the line of scrimmage while taking away all inside releases. They maintain a trail position as the receiver works up the field, and undercut all in- or out-breaking routes. The safeties protect the corners by covering the deep halves of the field to eliminate all deep throws down the sidelines. (The Jets tweaked the scheme by having the safety over top of Welker bracket the slot receiver instead of covering half of the field.)
The Jets assigned Ty Law to Moss and used their budding star corner Darrelle Revis against Welker in the slot. With their two top corners specializing in physical play at the line of scrimmage, the Jets made Moss and Welker work harder to get to their sweet spots on the field. In addition, the toll of the physical play frustrated the duo as they were unable to get their hands on the ball for long stretches (Moss had no catches in the first half and Welker had only two receptions at halftime).
Though the Patriots eventually exploited the weakness by having Cassell extensively target Ben Watson and Jabar Gaffney on the way to a 400-yard passing day, the Jets achieved their desired result by forcing the young quarterback to rely on the Patriots' third-and fourth-best options in the passing game.

You have proven time and time again to not only have little football knowledge but to also be thae biggest blow-hard on this board.

Presidence has proven to me in this thread that he doesn't know shit about football. He can't name one coverage shell that the Jets used but he is going to claim that he saw Welker doubled all night. I've watched every game Welker has played in a Patriots uniform, I understand coverage packages and how they allow Welker to work in single coverage underneath from the slot.
    Now FTFO.
