Meantime, John Wall of Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God did not visit Duke Monday or Tuesday nights for the Blue Devils victories in the Coaches vs. Cancer event. Duke beat Georgia Southern Tuesday night behind 19 points from sophomore forward Kyle Singler.

“I couldn’t go, it’s a dead period,” Wall wrote in a text message.

The No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2009 according to Rivals, Wall has made an official visit to Kansas and an unofficial to N.C. State. He is slated to visit Memphis Nov. 14, the same weekend that St. Anthony will Dominic Cheek is scheduled to trip there.

Wall is considering Duke, Baylor, Kansas, Memphis, N.C. State, Miami and Oregon and will decide in the late period.

“I don’t feel rushed,” Wall told USA Today. “Now, (college coaches) understand when I said I was going to wait until the spring to make my decision. They’ll just keep recruiting me as hard as they can.”

Whatever. Some of Gut's last classes were highly rated too, and they sucked ass.

I don't follow recruiting, but why is UNC not after Wall?

I was going to ask the same question. The only thing I can figure is he's from Raleigh and thinking about State, must be a lifelong State fan (and UNC hater.)

The question might be is he smart enough to get in to Duke or UNC?

Issues with "handlers" like OJ Mayo had.... Roy is staying away for a reason, Wall has stated he's wanted to be a Tar Heel his whole life.

There is plenty of info out there about Wall and his recruitment on the various recruiting websites. I don't see why Duke would stoop to the level of picking up him, he just doesn't seem to fit the mold of a student-athlete at Duke or UNC.

He'd fit in more at Memphis or Oklahoma State....:FIMunching06:

Interesting info, thanks guys. I hope he isn't being manipulated by greedy adults, but that seems to be the way of things these days.
